Sukaretto says:
p.s. major spoilers ahead.

I don't know where to start. where do I start?
So I don't really watch an ongoing drama. I usually wait for it and the subs to finish so I can marathon watch it. This drama is no different. And because it's a Ryosuke drama, I get all the spoilers every week. So I basically know what happened in the end. I love spoilers because I know what will happen, but watching it happen and knowing how it happened, it's still different and surprising. I think Im the only one who thinks this, though. XD
I know this drama was promoted as romance, but I'm glad that they kind of steered the story away from that and focused on the brothers (which is what it's supposed to be because duh, the title, and it was supposed to follow the story of East of Eden), and eventually, the whole family.
Ryosuke, where do I start with Ryosuke? OMG. Say whatever you like, that I'm biased and everything, but he really did a good job here. The acting!!! The way he showed us his character development. OMG. He's like a completely different person. I understand now why people were tweeting that Ryosuke's kind of scary in that episode. He's like he's going to burst anytime. Also, what's with the always teary eye? And good job, director-san! I was enjoying Ryosuke's butt in the first few episodes with those back shots. XD He was nominated for an award for this, right? He totally deserves it.
About Kenta, I think this is only the second time I've watched him in a serious role. First was that drama with Takei Emi where he was a detective. I also think he did a good job, but he was kind of overshadowed by Ryosuke, to be honest. It's like they weren't focusing on him much. Which is a shame because he's also a good actor.
I praise Kana for being so brave for taking the role of the heroine here. I'm surprised I haven't heard anything that Ryosuke fans had started bullying her.
But I guess, Hirona should be the one worried because she was kissed.
XD I also think they both did a good job in acting.

A lot of comments I've read on twitter were saying that Azusa's no good. First because Yu's better, why can't she just pick Yu? why stick with Ryuichi? But in the end, they were calling her a no good because she fell in love with Yu, too. What kind of woman falls in love with her boyfriend's brother? She's obviously not up to anything good, she's wreck both brothers. Well, I kind of understand her. She met Yu and didn't know who he was. Maybe that time she was already attracted to him, because who wouldn't? It's Ryosuke! XD Anyway, when they met again, she realized that "Oh, this guy is off limits" that's why she started calling him "otouto-kun," which I think has a double meaning, him as her junior at work, and him as his younger brother-in-law. But working with Yu was fun, and he was fun and great and all of these good things that's different from his brother. I know it's weird and it's not right, but I would at least get attracted to Yu. So I think I can't really blame Azusa for falling in love with him. But I think she loves Ryuichi enough to hold on to him, believe in him, and never betray him. Yu became this "what if" person for her, and somehow became someone she can confide in. I was actually surprised when she admitted in the end that she was in love with Yu for a short time because from watching, I don't think she;s giving off this aura that she's in love with him. It's like she just really like working with him because he's easy to work with and talk to with private things. Also, I'm kind of surprised that she stayed with Ryuichi because he was an asshole to her in those few episodes. But that's love. I can't say I agree. I'm just hoping that the attitude Ryuichi displayed when under pressure and when jealous was just temporary and would never happen again because that's fucking scary.

About the story, I really like it, until they implied that Kurosawa Kousuke was god or something. Because, when he came in the story, he's like god who tested them, manipulated them, and then saved them, like he's a really good person, when he realized that the people he's testing had learned their lesson. Also, Momoko is like a character that came from a Korean drama. The way she dresses, speak, her attitude -- it all remind sme of a rich & glamorous auntie from a Korean drama.

My Ratings: i'll give this 4.5/5 :) (I was ready to give it a 5 but the twist in the end!! I was just like NO. XD)
