Synopsis:
          Koizumi Akira, a son of a popular songstress, travels to a small-town cinema in far-off Kochi Prefecture to watch the closing movie before the theatre shuts its doors forever. The movie takes place in the same village but during the Showa 30s (1950s), in the years following the war. The story follows a young soldier who washes ashore on the beach one day, having lost his memory. He is "adopted" by the family who owns the village cinema and given the name Shimanto Taro. Although his past remains a mystery, Taro becomes good friends with many of the villagers, discovering his love for movies and falling in love with a feisty young girl.

          been watching Kura's dramas. this was the 3rd one and i loved it! even if Kura's not here, i'll still watch this.
          the story's light and not typical, though the love story's typical. i love that they didn't make any character too desperate or too evil or too selfish. everyone's balanced but that didn't make this drama boring. i especially love the ending. very logical, and sad but you know, that's what really happens in real life (except that Nagase had to pretend that his present memory was wiped out), and that what will make the characters in their story happy. he chose his daughter, not his past love or present love. the only consolation they gave us viewers was the future/present, when Nagase's grandson and Saki's granddaughter met, named after Nagase's fave actor and actress (he said that he wanted to name his children Ruriko or Akira). and Sabako! bless her! she's still alive! ah, and who would've thought that Saki's character still ended up with Ryuta's character? when she resents her. haha
